Back in 2016 Northern Virginia native, Kelly Hartranft discovered smoothie bowls while visiting California and was instantly hooked.  The nutritious and dairy-free bowls helped to alleviate the effects of her autoimmune condition.  She decided to bring these wholesome treats to the East Coast in order to share their delicious flavors and beneficial properties with family and friends.

 

In 2017 she opened her first cafe, Viva Bowls, in Newark, Delaware to a public eager for healthy alternatives.  With a mission to educate people about her healthy and tasty bowls, she focused her menu focusing on plant-based and gluten-free options. Over the next three years, she grew the menu and the business to eventually purchase a food truck in order to expand the reach of Viva Bowls to the greater Philadelphia area. 

 

Through the support of her family, Kelly has been able to enter the next stage of her calling.  She now brings her business to her beloved hometown. With the opening of Viva Sol Juice Co., the evolution of Viva Bowls, a larger and more extensive menu is now available to the local community.
